Reggie now owns a number of oil and lube franchises along with Slater Sports Zone in Houston, Texas. He will be presenting what he’s learned, from basketball to business, at the upcoming e2e event on May 12th, 5:30pm, at the Laramie Hilton Garden Inn. The WTBC started e2e as an educational networking program to improve the climate for the start-up and growth of entrepreneurial companies. Five meetings per year are held where entrepreneurs meet with other entrepreneurs and business service providers. Ideas are shared, plans are formulated, and many partnerships are formed. | | Reggie Slater: UW Hall-of-Fame; NBA; Entrepreneur Rebounding: From Basketball to Business |  | Reggie Slater is Wyoming's all-time leading rebounder and one of its greatest players of all-time. He is the first player in WAC history to win three consecutive rebounding championships. Reggie was named a first-team all-WAC selection for three years and was the 1992 WAC Player of the Year, as well as an Associated Press Honorable-Mention All-American his senior year. During his junior season, Reggie Slater led the WAC in field-goal shooting and was second in scoring. He posted the nation's best single-game rebounding effort of the year with 27. The "Big Cat" finished his career shooting .585 from the field and was named a Sports Illustrated College Player of the Week as a senior. He was selected All-District 7 by the United States Basketball Writers and was named WAC player of the week on five separate occasions throughout his career. | Reggie went on to play in Spain in 1992 through 1994 before being signed with the Denver Nuggets; he played in the NBA for various teams ending his career with the Timberwolves in 2003. Reggie now makes his home in Houston and owns a number of oil and lube franchises. He recently opened Slater Sports Zone. As a committed husband and father of four, Reggie Slater sees the value in raising children up in a good home and how important providing a safe and positive environment is for all youth. Slater's Sports Zone fills a much needed gap in positive youth facilities in the area.
